Greek PM Mitsotakis outlines package of measures for wages and pensions in the public and private sector

Salary increases in the public and private sectors. Pension increases of more than 3% in 2024. One-off support for those who have a personal difference in their pension. Significantly less burden on working pensioners. Exemption from participation in medicines for those pensioners who were previously beneficiaries of the supplementary fund EKAS. Reduction of employer contributions by one percentage point. And announcement of the goal to reduce unemployment to 8% at the end of the four years.

Joint ministerial decision for expat pensions

The Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Citizen Protection and Interior concerning the new way of calculating the National Pension of expatriates coming from Albania and from countries of the former Soviet Union has been published in the Government Gazette (Β' 4135/3.8.2022).

Pensioners sue Labor Minister over excessive delays in awarding pensions

A suit to the Prosecutor of the District Court of Athens was tendered by ENDYSIS (United Pensioners Network), against the leadership of the Ministry of Labor and minister Efi Achitsoglou and the administrators of the social security fund EFKA and the Unified Auxiliary Fund, denouncing that the pensions are not intentionally paid by the government so it cancreate a very high surplus to show lenders.
