Hierarchy to discuss changes in Church-State relations
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece Hierarchy will be convening on Friday to discuss the intention of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to make changes in the relations between the Greek State and the Church.
Ieronymos will brief the member of the Holy Synod on the context and the meaning of the in-principle agreement and afterwards the 82 Church prelates will discuss and express their positions, which will finally form the position of the Church.
So far, many of the prelates have expressed dissatisfaction with the draft agreement and the attempted separation of church and state.
