Gov’t announces tender for geothermal exploration in eastern Macedonia-Thrace region

The outgoing Greek government on Friday, in possibly the last executive decision taken before Sunday’s general election, announced a forthcoming international tender to grant geothermal deposits exploration and exploitation rights for four sites in the eastern Macedonia and Thrace region.
The decision was signed by Minister of Environment and Energy Kostas Skrekas.
The last similar tender for the same border region came nearly a decade ago.
Interested parties must submit expressions of interest by Oct. 4, 2023
