Berlusconi Facing Senate Impeachment
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Silvio Berlusconi in a pre-recorded message, today, reassured his voters that he will be standing by them, even if he is impeached out of the Italian Senate.
"There has been an unprecedented victimization. Justice has invaded every aspect of my personal, as well as professional, life," added Berlusconi, who reiterated that he was condemned without reason, last August, by the supreme appeals court of Italy.
A special committee of the Italian Senate is to meet on Monday in order to examine the possible Berlusconi's expulsion after he was found guilty for tax evasion. A possible ruling to expel the Italian media mogul and former PM could embroil Italy in a new round of political crisis.
