Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday sent a clear message to the new leadership of North Macedonia, stressing that if it does not fully comply with the provisions of the Prespa Agreement, then the country's path to the European Union will remain closed and the Greek government will not ratify the remaining Memorandums of Cooperation in the Parliament.

During today’s ( Sunday) swearing-in ceremony in Parliament, and in spite of the fact that the official text of the oath that was read out to her referred to the country as “ North Macedonia,” the new President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, chose to call her country “ Macedonia.”

The first ever Foreign Affairs Minister of the Former Yugoslavia Republic of “Macedonia” (now known as “North Macedonia”) after the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991, Denko Maleski, has caused an outraged in Skopje’s media.
