NYC Con Man Romano Sentenced to Life
New York con man Joseph Romano has been sentenced to life in prison, for a botched plot to behead a New York prosecutor and judge.
Romano is already serving time behind behinds bars, regarding his previous collectible coin illegal activity. The criminal claimed he was innocent before hearing his sentence.
The prisoner's decapitation plan began in 2012, after he was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to forfeit $7 million dollars in a coin scam. The currency extortion took advantage of senior citizen investors, as stated by prosecutors.
A fellow prisoner overheard Romano plotting revenge on the law officials and told his lawyer. The inmate then wore a wire and linked up Romano to an undercover federal agent, posing as a hit man. It was also revealed that the con man had other assault plans in the works.
